Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive long, blonde hair with a exuberant personality, shares easy methods to master and removes intimidation of restaurants dishes on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. The chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also learned about Italy's food traditions and the culture of Italy, along with the natural geography. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her following her graduation with the Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great experience. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In Italy she gained a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. It is a huge influence on the way she prepares her food. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids with disabilities. She travels frequently around the country in her role in the capacity of mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne has always been grateful she had the opportunity to share her love of sharing her cooking skills with other people.
